I'd like to pretend my parents came up just for my birthday, but it's also Dean's, thier oldest grandbaby's birthday in February too...so on Sunday we all went to my sister's house, she fed us some delicious food, and we had a mini birthday party for him. He was so funny, my parent's got him a big basketball hoop, and he loved it! so here's a piture of Jeter being really jealous and playing with Dean's basketball hoop!
We found this awesome baseball hat that someone had given him, and decided he looked like a train conductor with his overalls, so of coarse we had to snap a picture!
This is me and Jeter eating my birthday lunch at Wingers.
my mom, me, my sister, and Jeter and Eli eating birthday Asphalt Pie.
This is Jeter boy and his cousin Eli all ready to hang out with grandma and grandpa for the day.
Jeter boy in his bouncy, he is such a happy boy, and always smiles!
This is Jeter showing off his CURLY hair
This is a close up on his hair so you can see how curly it is. I wanted him to have curly hair so I can grow it long and and just have a big mop on top of his head, so I'm excited!!
So I caught him fallen asleep twice with his sippie and his mickey....he loves both!! and it's funny cause he fell asleep watching me run on the tredmill both times... I guess it's relaxing, the sound or something?
Anyways, that's our February so far, I'm so thankful for my awesome family who made my birthday great. Also...Jeter had his 6 month appointment and he was 27 inches long and 15 pounds 1 oz. So he's pretty skinny-I promise I feed him as much as he'll eat! But I was so excited because his next appointment, he doesn't have to get shots!!! I hate it when they give him shots, it breaks my heart!! so Anyways question if there's any mom's who read my blog....He still wakes up on average once a night to eat, then he'll eat and just go back to sleep-I really want him to sleep through the night, any suggestions? the dr. said not to feed him to sleep because he'll wake up thinking he needs to be eating even if he's not hungry.
I love his curls. I always wanted a little boy with curly hair! As for sleeping through the night, I kept going in to Dean when he was Jeter's age and rocking him. When he was about 9 months we started letting him cry for increasing amounts before getting him (i.e. 5 minutes the first few nights, 10 the next few, etc). Looking back I think I should have let him cry longer and then NOT picked him up, because he got dependent on me to put him back to sleep. It's hard to hear them cry though. Good luck. That picture of all of us at Wingers is what I'm using for my workout and diet motivation. I never realized how incredibly fat I looked until I saw that. Depressing. But it WAS really fun to go out to lunch and shop with just the girls (and the babies)!
ReplyDeleteNik.. he is growing so fast!! He is such a good mix of the 2 of you! I hope everything is going GREAT for you guys!
ReplyDeleteAh the sleeping through the night...I am like Kate-Kennedy didn't start sleeping through the night until she was about 9 months old. We just let her cry. I would not even go in there because when I did it made it worse. After about 3 nights of crying it got better and she started doing well. But just a warning-even once they start sleeping through the night it doesn't mean that they will keep it. When Kennedy was about 14 or 15 months old she started waking up again. I used to think that once they got the hang of it it would last forever.....lies. Anyways, good luck though if you figure it out let me know so I can apply it with Mckay
